Team Rules, Expectations, and Consequences
1. Attend every practice and be on time unless you have been excused prior to
practice. Excuses after the fact are considered unexcused. All absences will have a note from a professional or student services.
2. Speak, act, and talk like a winner. A negative attitude, “Hot-Headed” actions, and
gutter language will no be tolerated. ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING!
3. You will dress appropriately (shirt, tie, dress pants) on trips and always represent the school in a positive way.
4. Be MEAN BUT CLEAN.
5. You are expected to practice and wrestle with extreme intensity and attitude.
6. You are expected to exhibit personal honesty in all that you do- in the classroom, at weigh-ins, and in all your endeavors.
7. Fans aren’t allowed at the bench area during dual meets. And you are to stay in the bench area.
8. During weigh-ins you will remain quiet. You will not eat until after weigh-ins are over and either we or the opposing team have left the weigh-in area.
9. You will not talk to the referee, unless he asks you a question. That is my job.
10. During breaks in the action (during your match) look at me for instruction.
11. You will not throw your headgear, cuss, lose your temper, etc.
12. All team members are expected to stay with the team until everyone is done wrestling (dual meets and tournaments). All team members are expected to ride the bus home from dual meets (we win together and lose together). Exceptions can be made in extreme cases.
13. We wrestle over Christmas. Please make the appropriate arrangements so that we can continue on our quest to be champions.
1. Late for practice (unexcused)-extra physical activity
2. Very late for practice (unexcused)-mop mats, extra physical activity
3. Missing Practice (unexcused)-dismissed from team
4. Insubordination or bad attitude-extra physical activity, mop mats, possible suspension or dismissal.
5. Improper Dress for trips-extra physical activity
6. Improper Language-20 pushups, sit-ups, etc- on the spot of the infraction
7. Not making weight or weight goals-counseling, extra physical activity, moving up a weight
8. Working hard in practice and in matches-satisfaction of knowing you are doing your best and possible music during live wrestling in practice
Justice does not mean equal treatment for all. The coaching staff reserves the right to deal with each circumstance on an individual basis as deemed necessary and appropriate.
